What is Guap?

Guap is a dollar account that lives on the internet, plus a network of machines — Guap Tellers — that turn cash into digital dollars and back. You can hold USDB (Guap's digital dollar), send it to anyone in seconds, and cash out to TT$100 bills at any Teller.

No bank account needed. All you need is cash. Download and get started →

Do I need a bank account?

No. That's the point. You can open a Guap account with a phone number, load it with cash at a Teller, and receive money from abroad — all without a bank account.

Where are the Guap Tellers?

Guap Tellers are walk-in machines that turn cash into digital dollars and back — open 24/7, no PIN, no appointment. They're live now across Trinidad and Tobago: M6 Plaza, Chaguanas, Gulf City Mall, La Romaine (San Fernando), and Piarco, near the airport — with more locations on the way.

How do I put cash in?

At any Teller: tap Buy USDB on the machine, scan its QR code from the Guap App (Add CashGuap Teller), insert TT$100 bills, confirm. The digital dollars land in your app within seconds.

Tellers take TT$100 bills only — no coins, no cards, no foreign currency. Step-by-step →

How do I take cash out?

At any Teller: tap Sell USDB, enter the amount, scan the QR with your app, confirm. Cash dispenses in TT$100 bills within seconds.

What does it cost?

Receiving money into Guap is typically free. Sending stablecoins starts at 0.1%, taken from the transaction itself — nothing billed later. Cashing out at a Teller carries a small spread on the USDB → TTD rate, shown live in the app before you confirm.

How do I receive money from the US, UK, or Canada?

From the US: Strike sends to your Lightning address — yourname@guap.to — or Cash App sends USDC through Guap's dedicated Cash App flow (Add CashCash App; in New York it uses Bitcoin instead). From the UK, Strike. From Canada, Shakepay. From anywhere else, any Lightning-enabled wallet sends to yourname@guap.to.

It arrives in your app in seconds, and you cash out at any Teller. No Trinidad bank account involved. Full guide →

How much can I send?

Depends on your verification tier. With just your name, date of birth, and phone: up to TT$1,700 per transaction, TT$3,400 a day. Verify your government ID (about 3 minutes, in-app): up to TT$20,400 a day. Enhanced verification lifts that to TT$68,000 per transaction.

Why do you ask for my ID?

Because we're regulated. Guap operates under the TTSEC's Virtual Asset Regulatory Sandbox, which means identity checks are part of the deal — they're what make higher limits possible. Verification runs through Didit and usually takes minutes.

What we collect, and what we never do with it: Why we ask →

Is Guap regulated?

Yes. Guap participates in the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission's Virtual Asset Regulatory Sandbox under a Certificate of Acceptance (TTSEC-VASP-CoA-KG-26/04/07|003), with AML supervision to match.

What is USDB?

USDB is Guap's digital dollar — 1 USDB is designed to equal 1 US dollar. It holds its value (unlike Bitcoin), moves at internet speed, and converts straight to TT$100 bills at any Teller. Incoming USDT and USDC convert to USDB automatically.

What happens if I lose my phone?

If you backed up your keys (SettingsBackup, Google Drive or iCloud), you restore on a new phone and carry on. If you didn't, your funds are unrecoverable — Guap is non-custodial, which means only you hold the keys. Back up right after signup, before you load money.

How do referrals and rewards work?

Tap Invite friends in the app and share your link. Once your friend's cash-outs at a Guap Teller total $50, you both get $5 — paid straight into your apps. You hold 5 invites at a time; unclaimed ones return after 7 days. The details →

How do I know it's really Guap?

Our only accounts: TikTok @guap.me and @guap.trini, Instagram @theguapapp, and the founder's @alexandra.lutch. The only website is getguap.app. We never DM first, never ask for your recovery phrase or PIN, and never promise to multiply your money.
